About the Psychotherapy and Counselling we offer

Our work is informed by what is known as Relational Psychotherapy.
Relational Psychotherapy recognises that we are continuously living and creating our lives in relation to something or somebody meaningful both in the present as well as in the past. We have become who we are through a vast web of social and cultural influences and relationships with our environment and other human beings.
In practice this means how we relate to one another: what we need, say, think, and feel.

Relational Psychotherapy can provide an opportunity to deal with difficulties in an atmosphere of openness and willingness to own mistakes and take responsibility for constructive approaches to improving situations that may result from them.

We are interested in the connection between the psychological and the physical aspects of life. This could include our bodily sensations and emotions we feel that may not yet have a clear language.

We respect the ways that may have helped you survive in the past and we are also interested in the possibility of exploring other options of being in the world.

We offer long-term psychotherapy, which includes addressing processes that are not conscious as well as short-term engagements, which are more specifically focused.

Diversity

We recognise that there are many differences as well as similarities in the needs of people who seek our assistance. We are committed to being as open as possible doing away with privilege and discrimination in our work and welcome a diverse range of people from the community.
